| Q: |
What is the overall purpose of the Ministry Department?
|
| A: |
The overall purpose of the Ministry Department is “Blessed to Be a Blessings”. The charge of the Ministry Department is to demonstrate God’s Love by Loving Our Neighbor as Ourselves (Mt 22:39). We see ourselves as the “last step” in the 3-1-5 process – by doing the followings:
- Seeking to serve other humbly (Phil 2:3-11)
- Using our spiritual gifts freely and joyfully (1 Pet 4:10)
- Offering our prayer, resources, and time generously (Eph. 6:18, 2 Cor. 8:1-5)

| Q: |
What are Ministry Department 2009 Plans?
|
| A: |
Part I: Use Saddleback Church’s S.H.A.P.E. (Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences) assessment to help CBCM members discover their calling in life. This can be in the form of a special six (6) sessions of Sunday School class, Cell Group/Small Group study, small group weekend training and/or large group conference. Broader than spiritual gifts inventory; this is assessment of our kingdom purpose, of which spiritual gifts are one part.
Part II: Release people to service who have identified their kingdom calling. Refer, support, encouraging them – for both those who are going in full-time Christian ministry and for lay people who serve God where they are.

| Q: |
What is the core function of Ministry Department? |
| A: |
Ministry Department is looking for people to do/lead ministry, rather than taking on ministry and finding people to carry it out. In other words, Ministry Department focus is “People-centered” more than “Ministry-centered”.
